SWSCL Vision

South West Slopes Cricket League Vision

The year 2015 saw a bold new era in cricket launched in the South West Slopes region, with Cootamundra, Temora and Young District Cricket Associations all coming together to launch the South West Slopes Cricket League.

The idea for the competition had been floated for twenty years without a final layout of the competition concept being able to come to finalization, something the SWSCL Planning Committee and all three associations respectively worked hard to achieve in order to finally see the concept of the South West Slopes Cricket League finally get off the ground and the inaugural season being played throughout the 2015/2016 season.

While all feedback being received is positive towards the competition itself, the SWSCL Planning Committee have been made aware, and fully acknowledge, that there are some minor issues within the competition and the set up that needs to be rectified to continue to move forward with the concept in future seasons.

The South West Slopes Cricket League (SWSCL) have now begun to restructure itself, and come up with a clear and precise vision for the South West Slopes Cricket League to fall within the guidelines established by Cricket Australia through their publication Australian Cricket Club and Association Strategic Framework - A Whole of Cricket Approach 2015-2018.

By taking this approach it provides the South West Slopes Cricket League with the opportunity to fully establish itself as one of the leading cricket competitions outside of metropolitan New South Wales, and continue to make in-roads to becoming the leading competition within or around the South West Slopes region. With a focus and vision clearly on the viability of our competition, on its cautious expansion and by outlining a clear future for cricket to continue to grow within the region.

  • It is clear that the main vision of the South West Slopes Cricket League is to be regarded as the leading cricket association within the South West Slopes region;

  • The South West Slopes Cricket League aims at developing the skills of local talented players to become the next regional, state and international representative players by providing competitive competitions within our establishment;

  • To develop strategies by ways of competitions that improve the local cricketing scene by making it an all inclusive game. By introducing new and exciting competitions, formats and possibilities for players of all ages, sizes and genders to take part in the game of cricket we are developing and improving the game of cricket overall within the region;
